Bricklaying Competition – Competitor Participation Agreement (Regionals & Finals)

IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE TAKING PART IN THIS EVENT.

By ticking the checkbox below, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms outlined in this waiver and release of liability.

1. Assumption of Risk
I acknowledge that participating in Super Trowel events (including both Regional Heats and the National Final) involves strenuous physical activity and carries inherent risks, including but not limited to:

Muscle strain, fatigue, dehydration, heat exhaustion, slips, trips, and falls

Injuries from manual handling, repetitive motion, or the use of tools and equipment

Environmental hazards such as uneven ground, sharp edges, or falling bricks

Physical risk to both the bricklayer and the hod carrier

Accidents occurring both inside and outside the event venue, including during travel to and from the event, or while handling event-related tasks off-site

I fully understand these risks and voluntarily accept full responsibility for any injury, loss, or damage incurred as a result of participation.

2. Release of Liability
I hereby release and discharge Super Trowel UK Ltd, its directors, officers, employees, agents, event staff, volunteers, sponsors, venue operators, and affiliated parties from any and all liability for:

Personal injury (including death)

Property damage

Financial loss, including loss of income or profits resulting from injury

Any injury sustained by my hod carrier, assistant, or team members

whether arising from negligence or otherwise, and whether occurring inside the event area, outside the event area, or during event-related activities before, during, or after the competition.

3. Health and Medical Fitness
I confirm that I am physically fit and medically able to take part in this event. I understand that I am responsible for assessing both my own physical capability and that of any hod carrier or assistant working with me. I will not hold Super Trowel UK Ltd responsible for any medical condition, incident, or emergency that may arise.

4. Equipment and Personal Belongings
I understand that I am solely responsible for the condition, maintenance, and safety of any tools or equipment I bring. I accept full responsibility for any loss of or damage to personal property. Super Trowel UK Ltd does not provide insurance coverage for competitor belongings, vehicles, or equipment, whether on-site or off-site.

5. Compliance with Instructions and Safety Rules
I agree to follow all event rules, regulations, and safety instructions issued by event organisers and staff. I acknowledge that failure to comply may result in disqualification or removal from the event without refund or compensation.

6. Media and Publicity Consent
I consent to being photographed, filmed, or recorded during the event, and grant Super Trowel UK Ltd the right to use this content for marketing, promotional, or publicity purposes without compensation or further approval.

7. Indemnity
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Super Trowel UK Ltd against any claims, damages, legal fees, or costs brought by third parties, including my hod carrier or assistant, arising from my participation.

8. Governing Law
This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
