Explained simply

How the rankings work

Overall is your best run plus your ranking points. The other tabs are personal bests. Here is exactly how it works, with the real results behind every position.

Overall rankings

Overall in one line

Two numbers added together: how many bricks you can get past the judges, and how well you finish against everyone else.

800Best runYour most scoring bricks in one run
300Ranking pointsEarned by where you finish
1100OverallHighest ranks first

Ranking points

Points in four steps

  1. 1

    Compete

Finish a regional, the Subbie Cup, the Installer Show or the Final.

  2. 2

    Earn points for your place

1st earns 100, 2nd 80, 3rd 65 and every finish earns at least 15. Juniors earn a quarter of that.

  3. 3

    Finals count double

The Final is the toughest field, so every place is worth double points. Winning it earns 200.

  4. 4

    Your best 3 count

Add up your 3 biggest scores in the season. Most points ranks highest.

The points table

What every place is worth

PlaceRegional, Subbie Cup, Installer ShowFinal (double points)
1st100200
2nd80160
3rd65130
4th50100

6th4080
7th3570
8th3060
9th2550

Juniors earn a quarter of these points (25, 20, 16, 13...) because Junior walls are about a quarter of the size. That keeps bricks and results balanced the same way in both.

Worked example

A strong season beats one big day

Three made-up competitors. Each bar is one result, and its length is the points it earned.

  3. 3Competitor CWon the Final, one other event250

Not placed

Why some runs are "not placed"

From the 2026 season, a Pro run with 15% or more of its bricks deducted isn't placed at that event. It protects the podium and the prize pool for clean work. It doesn't apply to Juniors.

700 laid-112 deducted=16% deducted

Not placed at the event

At the event

  • No podium place
  • No prize money

In the rankings

  • The 588 scoring bricks count in full
  • Earns the points for the place those bricks would have won

Check the maths

The real numbers behind every position

Pick any competitor to see each result that counts, the ones that don't and why. Then compare them with anyone else.

Why it's fair

The same rules for everyone

  • Only judged, published results

Every point comes from a placing the judges confirmed. Nothing is added by hand.

  • Season by season

Judging and materials change from year to year, so each season is ranked on its own. Use the season toggle to see a single year or all time. All time starts in 2024, when full judging records (bricks laid and deductions) began.

  • Best 3 results only

Entering more events can't buy a higher ranking, and one bad day doesn't sink your season.

  • Clean work is protected

Pro runs from 2026 with 15% or more of bricks deducted aren't placed at the event, so they can't take a podium spot or prize. The rankings aren't affected: they count in full.

  • Code of conduct

Under the code of conduct, organisers can apply ranking sanctions, such as a points deduction or a competitor not being eligible for the overall top three. Sanctions only affect Overall. Scoring bricks, Bricks laid and Quality are never affected.

  • Ties are settled openly

Level on points? The bigger single result ranks higher, then the higher personal best scoring bricks.

  • Official notes are shown

When the judges record an official disadvantage, such as poor materials, it appears next to that result with a yellow flag. It doesn't change the points, but everyone can see it.

The other tabs

Personal bests

Scoring bricks, Bricks laid and Quality each rank your single best run in the selected season.

Scoring bricks

820 laid-45 deducted=775 scoring

Bricks that pass judging. The most important number in bricklaying.

Bricks laid

820 laid

Raw speed: every brick laid before the judges make deductions.

Quality

775 scoring÷820 laid=94.5%

How much of your work passes. The Quality tab ranks your best percentage from one run. Runs with at least three-quarters as many bricks as the most laid that season rank first, so a smaller tidy wall can't top a big clean one.
